Update May 2017
Aireen fully repaid her microloan in advance.
Aireen lives together with her husband and three children in Subic, Philippines. Until recently, the woman had to stay at home and take care of the family as her husband lived abroad for work. On the side, she was able to increase her income by selling products of the cosmetics brand ‘Avon’.
Once her husband returned, Aireen decided to take advantage of his return and completed an apprenticeship for industrial sewing funded by us. Immediately after graduation, she applied for a micro loan to achieve her ultimate goal – opening her own tailor’s shop. She primarily produces curtains and pillow covers and sells them in the neighbourhood.
With regards to the income, Aireen has decided to save it for the time being until she has enough to shop at Divisoria, a wholesale for textiles.
