Sri and Sutoyo moved from East-Java to Bali with their daugther and two sons in 2008, because the shoe factory where she worked shut down and she could not find any work elsewhere. Sutoyo started working as construction worker and Sri helped improve the family income by selling traditional cakes and cookies.
One year later, Sri decided to give up the cakebusiness and opened a kiosk in which she served rice dishes. The two older children have already moved out. Therefore, the only child living with the couple is the youngest sibling. Sri asked us for a micro loan so she can additionally start baking traditional cakes and cookies again. She does not only want to sell them at her kiosk but to numerous friends who asked as well. Thanks to your donation, Sri received a micro loan and is now able to sell cakes and cookies and can generate a higher income for her family.
